Scoble is the Center of the Universe
…or at least, the Twitter universe. Mapping the microblogging platform’s social network reveals that Robert Scoble isn’t just good for long incindiary rants and high-profile podcast interviews. He’s also good for those times you just want to know what the heck he’s doing.
In this graph of the Twitter social network, each white dot represents a person and each red line represents a mutual connection. The dot in the middle is Scoble, with 1,010 mutual connections — around five percent of Twitter’s over 20,000 users. Each circle is a degree of separation from Scoble.
Scoble himself blogs about Twitter a lot. If you champion a technology, you’ll probably end up in the center of its user community.
Colin Powell once said you’re a good leader when people follow only out of curiosity. By that standard, Scoble demonstrates thought leadership on a platform that requires no thought.

Well he’s not in my part of the universe. I gave up on twitter after it failed to work with my Gaim and GTalk clients. Sheesh! Maybe Scoble should invest money into it for better servers and support.
