MTV Thinks It Can Beat iTunes with RealNetworks
Microsoft orphaned MTV’s music store in favor of the lame-o Zune. MTV is owned by the idiots at Viacom. MTV doesn’t even play much music anymore. That’s why when I heard that MTV hopes to compete with iTunes through a joint venture with RealNetworks, I just had to say: HA!
While MTV is just so ’80’s, RealNetworks is just so ’90’s. I don’t even have any RealNetworks bloatware installed on my computer — and I work in online media. This deal is just dead weight on dead weight, MTV sinking even deeper into irrelevance. The MTV generation has come and gone; nothing can bring it back.
