More Yahoo! Mail Improvements

New Yahoo Mail Welcome Interface

Yahoo Mail has released a few more new improvements for their webmail interface. I really like the changes actually. They have fulfilled my wish to give me a reason to not move everything completely to Gmail.

  1. Totally Web2.0 welcome banner at the top with the must have gradient color fill. I like the gradient, it helps break up the normally stark white page I normally start my day with. I also like the available/used space indicator in the top-right corner.
  2. Probably most interesting is the integrated Yahoo! Calendar functionality at the bottom of the page. It reminds me of the web clipping function, which I don’t use, at the top of the Gmail interface.

Nice improvements, keep working on it guys. I really like them. Keep them coming. I wish I could say the same for Windows Live Mail. Their interface is okay, but the most annoying part to me is the amount of real estate that’s wasted at the top of the page for the white space and banner ad.
