One of the most annoying things about maintaining a social network profile is having to manually repost updates from that profile to other services you use. Most of these social networks just don’t want to share, doing everything they can to lock their users into their little information silos.
Just as I was tediously retyping a […]

Ever seen a dead person’s MySpace account? It’s surreal. You’re merrily checking out that person’s pictures, seeing her all smiley with her friends, and then you read the comments:

No wonder so many people lie about their age on MySpace. The founder does it too.
I knew there was something fishy about that Tom guy when he suddenly popped up on my MySpace profile years ago. That’s why I removed him posthaste.
Tom Anderson, the co-founder of MySpace and the first friend to anyone who creates […]

Parody news agency The Onion is partnering with MySpace, providing premium content through MySpaceTV and The Onion’s MySpace profile.
MySpace is owned by News Corp, which also owns Fox. Think about that for a second: a humorously fake news agency partnering with a maliciously fake news agency. The irony is delicious.

MySpace is a turkey, News Corporation is a contradiction (Fox!), and Yahoo is a fossil — so I’m not surprised they’d be in bed together. Rumor has it that News Corp is in talks to trade MySpace for a 25% stake in Yahoo. Fortunately, talks have been compromised by the demotion of old media dinosaur […]

In its continuing effort to become an information silo at war with its own customers, MySpace has blocked Photobucket videos from profiles and comments.

Microsoft has launched a new networking site for IT Pros called Aggreg8. You can get more details on The Microsoft Weblog.
Nothing amazingly special about the site right now in my opinion, but I signed up for everything and completed my profile, so we’ll see if it goes anywhere.

One of the areas of our earth that has emerged is online music and offline music. We’ve moved from having a “b-side” on the back of a 45rpm, to a CD of a dozen or so songs. What normally came with those dozen songs were a few that you weren’t really interested in, but just […]

Stowe Boyd posted an entry today about MySpace being on the downturn. My lack of interest in MySpace has been well known, but Stowe being the social networking guru that he is, has been predicting for far longer that the target audience would dash from the service as quickly as they signed on. The […]
