Firefox 3 Download Day Certificate

Despite being inexcusably unprepared for the server load, the Mozilla Foundation made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of software downloads in 24 hours. Firefox 3 Download Day scored an official tally of 8,002,530 downloads, exceeding their goal of 5,000,000.

Firefox Memory Management is Perfect for the Times

Firefox 3 not only fixes Firefox 2’s infamous memory inefficiencies. It blows all other browsers’ memory efficiencies away, according to a test by developer Sam Allen.

Firefox 3 Download Day: Best Clusterfuck Ever

Despite (self-inflicted) server troubles, Mozilla exceeded its world record target for Firefox 3 Download Day. They were shooting for five million downloads in 24 hours. They exceeded that number in five hours, ending the day with 8.3 million.
Mozilla’s still whittling down overcounts, but the final tally will definitely put Firefox 3 in the Guinness Book […]

Firefox Anime Girl

While you wait for your turn with her, enjoy […]

Firefox 3 Download Day Delayed

Firefox 3 Download Day brought down all Firefox 3 download sites within the first few minutes. Mozilla’s still shooting for the Guinness Book of World Records for the most downloads of a software package in 24 hours, but their timeframe is suddenly uncertain:
The outpouring of interest and enthusiasm around Firefox 3 has been overwhelming (literally!). […]

Firefox Mobile Mockup

I’m excited about Firefox 3, but I’d also be excited about Firefox Mobile. No code out yet, but the ideas proposed in this video mockup are pretty sweet.
In particular, the infinite 2D plane metaphor would work well not just for a mobile browser, but for a mobile OS.

Firefox Continues to Grab Marketshare

Firefox is now up to 14% of the browser market and IE continues to lose ground. Mark Evan’s believes it’s all because of upgrade fatigue and people are just tired of upgrading their browser. I’m not sure if this can be the case since Firefox has had more releases in their history than IE has […]
