If there’s any doubt Google wants to take over the universe, this video should erase that doubt. Check out the new Google Earth Sky in action.

Google Earth Adds Sky

Not satisfied with Earth and the Moon, Google takes the whole sky. The latest version of Google Earth now includes a planetarium.
The Sky imagery was stitched together from more than one million photographs from scientific and academic sources, including the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the Palomar Observatory at the California Institute of Technology and the […]

Where in Google Earth is Matt?

Leave it to Google to tap a YouTube star for a celebrity endorsement that actually makes sense. Matt Harding, famous for a viral video of his goofy dancing around the world, plugs his Google Earth KML file.
Whoever thought up this relevant tie-up should get a raise. It’s a stark contrast against Yahoo wasting money […]

Google Maps Introduces Draggable Driving Directions

Google Maps introduces draggable driving directions — very useful if you want to hit certain spots on your road trip. If this girl and Niniane Wang are any indication, Google must be full of smart hot Asian babes.

Is Google Responsible for the Death of James Kim

He got directions from Google Maps.
Google Maps told him to take the road that they eventually were stranded on, even though it’s not recommended by other non-online mapping services and software applications.
Could this be pursued?

Google - What Lies Beneath

About a month ago BusinessWeek had an article about Google’s ability to launch successful products. I actually missed the article at the time, so I’m just reading it for the first time today.
BusinessWeek’s premise is that Google keeps throwing stuff on the wall and nothing much seems to stick. They’re still relying on search for […]

Yahoo Maps Commercialized

Yahoo has released their Maps API for commercial use today. This is going to be essential, I think, to making YMaps a serious contende for Google Maps. I’m not quite certain what Google’s commercial use provision is but I believe it has to be paid for. Personally, I prefer Yahoo maps anyway. I’d expect the […]
