Google Apps Now Imports IMAP Email

To further smooth enterprise email migrations, Google Apps now supports IMAP mail imports for its Premier and Education Editions.
One of the first organizations to test this out, Central Piedmont Community College, replaced its old email system for 30,000 users in just 3 weeks. And that process came down to 3 million emails flying from their […]

Stikkit - Great, but let’s take it a step further

I recently highlighted an interesting little application called Stikkit on my Uncover the Internet site. I found the original application from Merlin Mann’s 43 Folders site for general life productivity and hacking tips.
As I began to share in my Uncover the Internet post, but decided to stay on topic there and share my thoughts here […]

Move Over Yahoo! Here Comes Google

I’ve played around with the Google personalized homepage for quite awhile now, but I’ve never really considered it a worthy replacement for everything I had setup in MyYahoo! for the past several years. Those days may be changing. I’ve spent some time customizing things on my Google page and I’m liking how things are coming […]

Google Talk Embedded in Gmail Difficulties

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
I’ve been getting this error now for almost a week. I’ve talked to other friends that are using Google Talk embedded in Gmail and they aren’t experiencing the same issues?
Trying to figure out of it’s just me or my computer. Don’t think so since it’s happening on both my personal […]

I’m a Plaxo user and I love the service. I was hesitant at first, but a friend of mine kept hounding me about how great the service was and that they weren’t out to just harvest e-mail addresses for spammers.
Colbert Low has an interesting post at Profy.com about the possibility of Google purchasing Plaxo. Although […]

Getting a New Gmail Account

I’ve been using Gmail now for so long I’ve never had the need to setup another e-mail account with them. Well that need changed this morning and I went to do just that. I was presented with the following prompt:

I understand that Gmail now has mobile functionality and that’s a great feature, but why would […]

AOL Mail Still a Spam Magnet

Why is it that AOL mail, or specifically my AIM mail account, continues to be a spam magnet? I don’t provide my e-mail address for this account to anyone, I never include it on web forms or on web pages. 3 of 5 messages from my account above are sent specifically to my AOL/AIM address, […]

Yahoo Bookmarks Quick Review

A quick thought on the new Yahoo Toolbar with bookmarks feature. Overall I really like the idea and it’s a very clean and smooth design.
My only problem is all my bookmarks that weren’t already in a specific folder have gone bye-bye somewhere.
All of my bookmarks highlighted over there in the screen grab are completely missing […]

AOL OpenRide

If you remember, I was regularly posting back towards the end of AOL as we know it, that I thought the changes they were making were exactly what they needed to do.
It looks like AOL’s “OpenRide” software is coming together nicely. Has anyone used it?
Let me know.
